Regular Group Meetings

The Group intends to hold its first Annual General Meeting later this year to allow for the election of members to posts on the Executive Committee, to review progress on its campaigns and to consider any other relevant business. Details are to follow.

In the interim, the Group is holding Quarterly Meetings to review progress and decide on recommendations brought forward by the Executive Committee and others. These Quarterly Meetings are open to all members of the Group; those intending to come are asked to advise the Chairman beforehand. Representatives from the local authorities and the train operators are invited to attend and most usually do so as observers.

The last Quarterly Meeting was held on 23 February 2005.

The next quarterly meetings are scheduled for 25 May, 7 September and 30 November 2005, each to be held between 1830 and 2030 in the West London Line area - venues to be advised.

The Executive Committee meets at least once a quarter between each Quarterly Meeting.

Other Group Events

The Group organises these on an “as needed” basis. The last examples of these have been:-

  • A site visit with representatives from Silverlink at West Brompton on 14 March to discuss security arrangements and the appearance and maintenance of other station facilities.
  • A site visit with officers from HM Railways Inspectorate at Clapham Junction on 8 March where Group members assessed the likely impacts on passenger safety should proposals to curtail the Watford-Brighton trains at Clapham Junction be implemented, and
  • A joint meeting with officers from the SRA and TfL at TfL’s offices on 22 February to discuss progress with the SRA’s Brighton Main Line Route Utilisation Strategy.
  • The Group is also proposing an annual Open Day at Kensington Olympia.
